Did you know that there are some European Heritage Label sites that are divided in multiple locations?

Among the 67 sites that have been awarded with the European Heritage Label there are some whose locations are spread across several European countries. Even though most of the EHL sites have only one location, there are some that are multi-location, which means that they are formed by two or more sub-sites in different locations. Within these multi-location sites we can differentiate two main categories, these are the thematic sites and the transnational sites. On one hand, thematic sites are formed by two or more different sub-sites in the same country. On the other hand, the transnational sites are formed either by multiple sub-sites in different countries. Transnational sites can also be sites that are located between two different countries.

Both the EHL thematic and transnational sites offer travellers the unique opportunity to embark on a journey through Europe to discover the many locations that formed them. In case you are already planning your trip across Europe and are interested in discovering which of these sites you can visit do not miss the two recommendations that we present you in this article.
