The application period for the Religious Heritage Innovator of the Year Award 2024 is now open.

The application period for the Religious Heritage Innovator of the Year Award 2024 is now open. This competition, launched by Future for Religious Heritage (FRH) in 2022, celebrates and promotes excellence in the field of religious heritage.

Each edition of the award highlights five projects that significantly contribute to the understanding, enhancement, safeguarding, and promotion of religious places, objects, and traditions. Through this initiative, FRH encourages European citizens to embrace, protect, and celebrate the rich tapestry of religious heritage, an integral part of our cultural identity.

The Religious Heritage Innovator of the Year Award welcomes applications from a broad spectrum of participants. These include public and private institutions such as cultural heritage organizations, museums, universities, and tourism boards, as well as public administrations at the local, regional, and national levels. Cultural and creative professionals, along with civil society organizations focused on heritage activities, are also invited to apply.

The award is not only a recognition of excellence but also a platform to showcase and promote successful projects in the field of religious heritage. The winner and finalists will have their projects presented at the FRH Biennial Conference 2026. The winner will receive support for conference participation costs up to €1,000. Additionally, the projects will be featured in a special publication and promoted across Europe as examples of best practices.

The application period runs from 18 June 2024 to 30 September 2024, with the winner and finalists announced in mid-October 2024. The award presentation will take place at the FRH Biennial Conference 2026.
