Webinar | Archive on screen: opening up heritage material to creative reuse in film and media
About the event
This event – organised by Europeana Foundation and EUscreen – is the second of a webinar series exploring how creatives and cultural heritage institutions collaborate to bring audiovisual heritage into new media works.
The event will explore how creatives use heritage materials in film-making and broadcast, to create new cultural stories, blending aesthetics, memory and critique. Speakers will share:
- Details of their creative practice when making films and media with cultural heritage materials
- Ideas around ethical reuse of cultural materials
- The challenges they encounter around copyright and open access
- Lessons cultural institutions can apply to support high-impact reuse
The first part of the session will be a showcase of creative work and insights, followed by an interactive panel discussion.
This event is for media content creators, cultural heritage professionals, creatives, rights and access coordinators, educators, and anyone interested in the intersection of heritage and digital storytelling.
