As an Associated Partner of the European Heritage Hub, the European Heritage Label (EHL) is working to open new opportunities for all members of the #EHLCommunity. One such opportunity is the Call for Expressions of Interest for EHL Sites to host two Intergenerational Climate Conversations, each taking place at a different EHL Site. The organisation of these two events will be supported by the consortium members through both financial and human resources.

What are the Intergenerational Climate Conversations?

This initiative focuses on strengthening cultural heritage resilience by supporting climate mitigation and adaptation strategies. The goal of the Intergenerational Climate Conversations is to explore how traditional knowledge and practices can help EHL Sites respond to the challenges posed by climate change. Thus, each hosting Site must choose one thematic focus for its event:

Traditional Knowledge Systems
Ethical and Equitable Engagement
Climate Education & Empowerment
Youth Engagement, Gaming & Hackathons

What should interested sites submit?

A brief 1-page Expression of Interest including:

Motivation for hosting the event
Ongoing initiatives relevant to climate adaptation, youth engagement, or intergenerational dialogue
Preferred thematic focus (from the list above)
Preferred event format (in-person, hybrid, or online)
Capacity to host at least 50 participants (in person + hybrid)
Feasibility to host the event between May and December 2026
