The Trentino Foundation Alcide De Gasperi, managing the 2014 EHL Awarded Site – Museo Casa Alcide De Gasperi, is inviting interested parties to participate in a Youth Worker Exchange in Trento, Italy.

The exchange will take place from November 13th to November 19th, 2024, with travel days on the 13th and 19th. The charming city of Trento, Italy, will host this dynamic event.

Youth worker exchanges are part of the European Erasmus+ programme, offering opportunities for the mobility of young people and youth workers. Organizations can support the professional development, capacity building, and networking of youth workers, thereby enhancing the quality of youth work at local, regional, national, European, and international levels through non-formal and informal learning experiences.

These mobility projects aim to provide educational and professional development opportunities, build a community of youth workers that supports the quality of projects and activities for young people in EU programmes and beyond, and develop local youth work practices while contributing to capacity building for quality youth work.

“The Future is Europe” project, under the Erasmus+ program, is dedicated to fostering collaboration and sharing best practices among youth workers across Europe. Its mission is clear: to build the Exchange together, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and sharing in its endeavors. The central theme of the project revolves around effectively narrating the European Union to the youth and promoting its values through its work.

The agenda for the Youth Worker Exchange program prioritizes the creation of a dynamic platform where participants can share their diverse professional experiences within the sector. The program aims to recognize and harness individual skills and competencies, empowering participants through engaging non-formal learning activities. These activities will be carefully curated to foster collaboration, reflection, and personal development among participants.

Who can participate?

The project is designed for youth workers from across Europe who engage with young people on EU-related topics, including those from info desks and European foundations. Participants must have at least one year of experience in youth work to share effective practices and methodologies. The exchange will accommodate 24 youth workers, and each participant must be affiliated with a sending organization that has a valid OID. Each organization is allowed to send up to two participants.

Travel and Accommodation Expenses

Board and lodging are provided by the organization for the entire youth worker exchange. Accommodation is in a self-managed house in Candriai, a mountain area near Trento, equipped with a kitchen, common room, and shared bedrooms for 2-3 people. The area is suitable for both outdoor sessions and city activities. Participants will self-manage breakfasts and dinners, while lunches will be catered, accommodating dietary preferences and intolerances.

Travel expenses from the country of residence to the exchange location will be reimbursed up to a specified amount after submitting original travel documents. Reimbursement applies to public transportation (plane, train, buses) used on the specified travel dates (13th and 19th). Detailed reimbursement amounts can be found in the info pack.
