What is the Core Group?

The EHL Core Group will be a small and dynamic team of five representatives from different EHL Sites. Each member will lead a thematic Practice Group for a one-year term, helping to animate collaboration and co-creation within the EHL Community of Practice.

The five thematic priorities follow the suggestions presented by the Bureau based on Community consultations and tested during the 2024 EHL Forum, reflecting the most pressing shared challenges and opportunities across the network.

  • Funding: Focuses on strengthening the financial sustainability of EHL Sites by exploring funding opportunities, encouraging the exchange of best practices, and supporting the development of collaborative pilot initiatives.
  • Digitisation and new media: Explores how digital tools and storytelling can enhance the visibility, accessibility, and engagement of EHL Sites — from digitisation strategies to creative content and collaborative formats.
  • Visibility: Aims to raise the profile of the European Heritage Label through improved communication strategies, stronger branding, and joint campaigns that highlight the European dimension of each Site.
  • Audience engagement: Looks at how to better connect with diverse audiences — particularly young people — through inclusive educational programmes, participatory experiences, and intergenerational dialogue.
  • Climate change and sustainability: Promotes environmentally responsible heritage management by encouraging sustainable practices, green tourism, and alignment with the European Green Deal and other EU climate goals.
