Harmonizing heritage: highlights of the concert series

The series launched on April 30, at the atmospheric Podelzig Church Ruins, where three ensembles – from folk and rock to brass and heavy metal – shared the stage, blending diverse musical styles in a joyful celebration of local culture. Each concert feature collaborations among twenty ensembles, including choirs, bands, string quartets, and orchestras, all rooted in the Oderbruch community.

The grand finale will take place on July 13, at Kunersdorf, where all participating musicians and ensembles will come together for a spectacular closing concert during the Oderbruch Day festivities. A special highlight of every event is the communal rendition of Beethoven’s “Freude schöner Götterfunken,” symbolizing unity through music.

The event series is organized by the Oderbruch Museum in partnership with the cultural heritage sites and the Steven Kopp Music School in Wriezen. This inspiring project is funded by the Amateur Music Fund of the Federal Music Association, and over 200 volunteers from the Oderbruch region are actively involved in preparation and organization.
