In June, the Summer University of Jyväskylä in Central Finland buzzed with youthful enthusiasm as more than 400 children took part in an exciting array of science camps. These camps offered a exploration of diverse subjects, including philosophy, history, languages and cultures, arts, natural sciences, and coding, all under the expert guidance of university students.

The campus transformed into a dynamic hub of activity, where children engaged in hands-on learning and creative expression. They had the unique opportunity to construct a model of an ancient temple, paint wall murals inspired by Stone Age rock art, and design their ideal city while stepping into the role of a city manager. The experience didn’t stop there; they also created their own theater performances, delved into the world of coding, and participated in a multitude of other activities designed to ignite their passion for science and the arts.

Seminaarinmäki Campus (Finland) was awarded the European Heritage Label in 2021
