“Toni’s Music Trail”: A playful App bringing Leipzig’s Musical Heritage to life

Discovering Leipzig’s music history through play
Leipzig’s Musical Heritage Sites is a constellation of nine historical buildings in the centre of the city. These sites collectively showcase Leipzig’s profound influence on Europe’s musical culture.
Developed by Notenspur Leipzig e.V. (Leipzig Music Trail Association), “Toni’s Music Trail” features two charming avatars, Toni the musical note and Lyra, who guide children and their families through Leipzig’s city. The app tells fascinating stories about the legendary musicians who shaped the city’s musical landscape, inviting users to solve riddles, play games, and collect tokens along the way.
The app’s innovative use of augmented reality and artificial intelligence brings the city’s musical past to life, encouraging children to actively explore their surroundings as they follow the trail. This interactive experience not only educates but also inspires curiosity and movement, making learning about cultural heritage an adventure.
